The Hitch-Hiker

This movie is a movie that made you want for the characters of Bowden and Collins to fight off or escape from Myers. At times Myers was annoying such as when he kept asking Collins to place a can on a rock for him to shoot ;Again asked Collins to hold the can so that Bowden can shoot. This scene showed how Myers was trying to be a wannabe tough guy. When in fact deep down he was scared man not wanting to go to prison when in fact in the ending showed his true colors. Bowden and Collins proved to the tough guys ; Collins not so much.

  1. I don't know that I'd entirely agree with you about Collin not being a tough guy. Yes, he was more afraid, he was the one who got hurt and did seem more scared at times however he is also the one who wanted to attack Meyers and run away when Bowen did not..

  2. It seemed as if they were having fun during the shoot the can scene until myers forced Bowden to shoot the can out of collins hands. A couple times during the movie, it seemed as if they all were having fun. I know it's not fun, it's to be described as sport. Whether they were tough or not they sported in a game Myers controlled mostly.

  3. I think Meyer's was using the power he had over them to his advantage. I think he did it to startle them a little bit.. like "Yes, the gun is loaded. Yes, I will use it." Meyer's obviously did it for his own enjoyment but Collin and Bowden didn't find anything about that funny.

  4. Both their lives could've been on the line during that entire scene. Maybe you're right about that. Only just before that Myers shoots at a bunny. One of the good guys says, 'looks like we're not having rabbit for dinner'. This provokes the whole shoot the can scene. Then during the first can shooting by Bowden his face shows a short expression of hype then turns into a more serious expression. He realized that he could be killed if he misses. Some times harsh experiences are remembered as being dangerously fun. Wouldn't you agree?
